What is Ticketless Parking?
The Ticketless Parking system is smart technology designed to make entry and exit of carparks a breeze. The system uses licence plate technology to scan vehicle number plates at entry and exit calculating parking fees automatically.
How does Ticketless Parking work?
At entry
- The camera will read your licence plate number, record your time of entry, and raise the barrier arm
- Drive in and park your car
Top Tip: remember to write down your licence plate number
Payment & exit
- Go to the Pay Station and enter your licence plate number on the screen.
- Your parking fee will be displayed – follow the payment process
- Drive to the exit. The camera will recognise that your parking is paid, and the barrier arm will rise.
OR
- Drive directly to the exit. The camera will read your licence plate, and display the parking fee on the screen
- Tap to payWave at the exit, barrier will automatically raise (please note: payWave is the only method of payment at the exit barrier)
Is the system fully ticketless?
There are some occasions where tickets may be required e.g.
- Dirty or unreadable licence plates
- Motorcycle plates
If the barrier doesn’t raise on approach, customers can press for a ticket at entry, pay using the ticket at the payment machines, and use the ticket to exit.
What should I do if the barrier does not open for me when entering?
Simply press for a ticket from the entry machine. You can pay as usual with a ticket at the payment machines.
Do you offer any free parking?
In both car parks, if you stay under 15 minutes you can exit for free.
Where do I enter my licence plate number?
At the Pay Stations located between the main entrance and the car park.
How much does parking cost?
What payment methods can I use to pay for my parking?
You can pay for your parking by payWave, credit or debit card, or cash – notes and coins (change will be given). Visa and Mastercard only. We don’t accept Amex, Diners.
Can I still use payWave to pay for my parking?
Yes. payWave is available at the payment and exit machines.
What if I forget my licence plate number?
We get it – licence plate numbers can be hard to remember, but you’ll need it to calculate your payment at the pay machines. Taking a photo of your licence plate is a good idea, or you can simply drive to the exit and payWave at the barrier.
What if I can't figure it out - will someone help me?
Press the help button on the Pay Station for assistance. Or keep an eye out for our team of Airport Ambassadors who may be available to assist you.
What if I have an issue and I can’t get out of the carpark?
You can call for assistance using the help button if you have any issues.
Can I charge my electric car at the airport?
Yes, you can. We have two ChargeNet 75kw EV chargers off the car park ring toad. You can book and manger your charging session using the ChargeNet app.
