Christchurch Airport senior executive Nick Flack is the newly appointed CEO of Hawke’s Bay Airport, commencing in his new role from 3 February 2025.
Hawke’s Bay Airport Chair Jon Nichols says that the Board is delighted to have secured such a high calibre candidate.
“Nick comes to Hawke’s Bay with a proven track record of leadership within infrastructure organisations including aviation, shipping, and logistics. We are looking forward to having Nick on board and taking our airport into the future.”
Most recently, Nick has been General Manager Planning, Assets and Safety at Christchurch Airport. Prior to this, he held management positions at Lyttleton Port and Centre Port.
“We were impressed by Nick’s ability to develop and execute successful project strategies, balance complex issues, and deliver commercially, but most importantly he builds strong teams whilst focussing on key stakeholder engagement,” says Mr Nichols.
“Nick’s experience over the last 11 years in aviation coupled with a deep understanding of the importance of regional infrastructure assets will complement the skilled and talented team we’ve built at the airport.
“He was a finalist in the Deloitte Top 200 Awards in the young executive category in 2022 and has consistently been recognised for his leadership and executive skills.
“In appointing Nick, I’d also like to acknowledge the dedication of our airport team who stepped up significantly and showed exceptional commitment during the period of time without a chief executive.
“We are thrilled to have recruited an executive with the skills that Nick has, and look forward to welcoming him to our organisation, introducing Nick to key regional stakeholders and of course to our wonderful region,” says Mr Nichols.
Nick Flack says he is excited to take the next step in his career at Hawke’s Bay Airport.
“My new role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to regional prosperity and the future success of the airport. There is plenty to get my teeth into, and I am really looking forward to being in Hawke’s Bay, settling my young family into their new home, and leading the airport team,” he says.
